Leona Lewis: the Hackney heroine has given Simon Cowell a lesson in taste
Collide singer talks epic spook-pop, riots and dodging Whitney style ballads with Sylvia Patterson
Leona Lewis, despite her 9m album sales, three Grammy nominations and audience of 2 billion at the Olympic closing ceremony in Beijing in 2008 (with Jimmy Page on guitar and David Beckham on balls), still lives in Hackney. We meet four days after the London riots and the hitherto mild-mannered, some-might-say drearily namby-pamby, Leona Lewis has turned into a high-pitched version of walking-stick-wielding Hackney Heroine Pauline Pearce.
“It was just hoodrats getting totally out of control,” she froths, with an indignant swish of her newly dark, single-plaited hair. “I don’t think there was any motivation behind it other than to cause trouble cos they’re bored and want free stuff. Total, total hoodrats. Little shits!” …Read More
Hey guys, here’s a short interview/call that Leona did yesterday to the radio show “Total Access” presented by Simon Morykin from the station 107.4 Tower FM in the UK. She talks about what she’s doing now and presented her single “Collide”. Listen the interview bellow:
Leona’s latest single “Collide” still climbing the Billboard “Dance/Club Play songs” charts. The song went from #32 to #22 and then to #16 and it has only 3 weeks on the charts and the song is not officialy release yet, so this is a great news! hopefully Leona will be on the top 5 if not #1 with this awesome single!.
Exciting! Another Album news!. According to our friends at Leona Lewis Brasil, Leona re-recorded the song “I miss you missing me” originally by the Chinese singer Bibi Chow, that possibly will be part of Leona’s 3rd Album. The song is a powefull ballad that of course will sound amazing in Leona’s voice. Listen to “I miss you missing me” by Bibi Chow bellow:

Simon Cowell’s Syco label and Avicii reach agreement over instrumental used in Leona Lewis’s forthcoming single Collide
Leona Lewis and her record label – Simon Cowell’s Syco – have agreed to work with a 22-year-old Swedish DJ after settling a legal dispute over The X Factor winner’s forthcoming single, Collide.
The up-and-coming dance producer, Avicii, last week attempted to block the release of Lewis’s single claiming that the instrumental was a direct copy of his own song, Fade Into Darkness.
Syco is understood to have reached an 11th-hour agreement with Avicii’s record label, Ministry of Sound, on Monday – hours before the case was due to be heard at the high court in London. Details of the agreement were not disclosed but the single will be released as planned on 4 September.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Syco said: “It is announced today that Leona Lewis and Avicii will work together on the forthcoming single of Collide. Collide will be released on 4 September. Since getting its first radio play in the UK it has received rave reviews and is already topping club charts across the country.”…Full Story?
